Thurs 27th Oct– Radio Feature by Nina Timm on Radio RSG –Cape Town 9.00a.m.

Oh my word! Stress…heart palpitations….a call from celebrity Nina Timm to ask me…unknown interior and food stylist and happy hazard cook to feature on her Radio show tomorrow morning! So I called all three people I know living in Cape Town and insisted they listen for me!!  (Daughter, her boyfriend and another friend-cum-adopted daughter!)

But back to Nina…you just have to realize how incredibly talented, and successful this lady is! This is what her PR people say about her!

She has been a featured publisher on Food buzz and has been referred in the Woolworths Taste magazine as site with best food Photography. She has been an ambassador for Kleine Zalze Wines and a finalist in The Fairview cheese Bloggers Competition. Nina tries not to get involved with Competitions “I believe that there are many that are specialists at Specific dishes or genres. I prefer to aim for high quality consistency and images-constantly pushing my abilities and my readers taste buds” even though this is Nina’s outlook, this has not stopped her from being nominated for the food blog of the year twice. She was a guest speaker at the first SAFB Conference in early 2010 and was privileged to be a special guest at the Eat In as well as the Eat Out Awards. She has had the privilege of ending of the Year by being invited to test Reuben Riffle’s new menu at the One & Only in the V&A in Cape Town.

Nina is a South African cook at heart but more often than not she will Fuse her dishes with a Mediterranean flavor or go all out international where she introduces readers to things they barely are able to spell let alone believe they could make it. Proof of her Cape Town roots is her most read post for Breyani which had in excess of 27 000 hits over 48 hours.”

27 000 hits!  Not sure if I will see that in my entire life-time.

Thank you Nina….I  am honored. (Click here to connect to her site) and to Radio RSG

  1. Well done, you have a lovely blog Lisa. I wish you all the best and hope that you get good mileage out of the airing with Nina. Thank goodness with internet live streaming one doesn’t have to actually live in Cape Town to hear the show. I am the co-ordinator of the South African Food &Wine Bloggers Indaba (or Conference as it was known last year) It is a lovely way to get to know other like minded bloggers and also learn more about blogging, writing, social networking, styling and photography. I am currently working on the next Indaba for 2012. If you would like to know more please join my page on facebook called Food and Wine Bloggers Indaba. Good luck for tomorrow :) xx

  2. Thanks so much Colleen – I am a great admirer of yours! I would love to hear more, so will sign up – and am in Cape Town at least once a month styling for my husband so will make sure I co-ordinate a job with the dates.I was lucky enough to visit an international bloggers conference in Boston in June so am very interested to see how similar or different bloggers in SA operate. Thank you so much for your encouragement xx
